During rti, we practiced our high-frequency words from Reading Streets using our iPad Minis. We worked in partners and each group had a word. We wrote a sentence with that word and then used the iPad camera to illustrate our sentence. The children used Skitch to add text and graphic. Mrs. Photopulos and the children used iMovie to put it all together and add or voices!
I just can't get over how exciting it is to have a class set of iPad minis at our disposal. The children are so excited to learn and use them. They are so careful and helpful with each other. I knew the minis would be a powerful tool but I did not realize that the iPad could be such a catalyst for cooperative learning. The children can't wait to show each other how something works, work together on the high-frequency word and fact and opinion stories, and share their final products using AirDrop.
